TRISH DIEWALD, MA

Serving the Glen Ellyn Area

About Trish

After 20 years as an executive assistant and editor, Trish decided to follow her true passion of helping others navigate the challenges that face them. Volunteering with NAMI and other support groups during COVID sold her on becoming a psychologist. Having completed her MA in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College, she is continuing to work toward her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton. Trish is eager to work with individuals 16 and older, and her areas of special interest include grief and loss, healing from childhood emotional trauma and other family-of-origin wounds, and coping with chronic pain or illness. In her free time, Trish enjoys riding her bike along the Prairie Path, painting with acrylics, kayaking, engaging in deep conversations with friends, and experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes.

Trish's approach to therapy

Life’s challenges often leave us feeling stuck, torn, or disconnected from ourselves and our loved ones. Trish aims to help clients get unstuck and reconnected and find a sense of wholeness and self-integrity. She believes that therapy helps us gain freedom—freedom from whatever weighs us down, and freedom for healthy relationships and authenticity. Knowing that getting there isn’t easy, Trish is ready to roll up her sleeves and work alongside each client to support them as they heal and begin to flourish. She also brings to therapy her compassion, warmth, and curiosity, as well as a strong sense of humor.
